Cultural Programme was held at Town Hall on 30th September 2022 which was organized by District Cultural Office Tuensang with the theme “Igniting Culture Traditions” with EAC Tuensang, Toking Yimkhiung as the special guest.

The special guest of the programme- Toking Yimkhiung in his speech encouraged and appreciated the Department for organizing such a mega event on culture and traditions. He also said that Nagas as tribals are recognized for their honesty and hardworking culture and organizing such events will help to preserve the originality of our rich values. He also advised the gathering to maintain and preserve the good values and culture. Nagas are recognized for rich cultural attire and identified but since the advent of modernization, our cultural values are now becoming diluted and we need to be very serious about their preservation. He also highlighted the advantage of having a rich culture and traditional assets in the field of tourism field.

M. Chingmak PA to DC in his short speech spoke on the importance of culture where he mentioned the uniqueness of the Naga’s Culture and tradition to that of the rest of the nation when compared. He also advised the youngster to be well acquainted and safeguard our cultural values which give us our identity. In this time of transition with the modern culture, we should also pay serious attention to follow and learn our culture and be deep-rooted so that future generations will learn non-distorted culture and traditions.

Folklore on Naknyulum and Momola was also recited by Lima Manen Ao and Phanion Khiam of GHSS Tuensang. Students of GHSS Thangjam, GHSS Tuesnang, Chang Cultural Troupe, Khaimniungan Cultural Troupe, and Yimkhiung Cultural Troupe presented cultural songs and dances.

Rulong Sangtam District Cultural Officer Tuensang addressed the welcome address in the programme and Er. NAbum Tombou Chang ARO gave the vote of thanks in the programme.
