In an advisory issued by the Commissioner of Nagaland regarding the recent eviction drives being carried out by the Government of Assam, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, has issued a detailed advisory to heighten vigilance and coordinated action to prevent the possible influx of illegal immigrants into Nagaland.
The advisory, issued by Deputy Commissioner, Polan John, highlights growing concerns over the entry and movement of illegal immigrants into the State amidst the ongoing eviction drives in neighbouring Assam. It stresses the importance of maintaining public order and safeguarding the demographic integrity of Nagaland.
In the advisory dated July 22, 2025, all Administrative Officers of the Sub-divisions, Medziphema, Dhansiripar, and Seithekema, along with the Executive Officers of the Chümoukedima and Medziphema Town Councils have been instructed to remain constantly vigilant. They are directed to take immediate and necessary steps to prevent any potential influx of illegal immigrants within their respective jurisdictions.
Additionally, all Village Councils and Town Councils across the district are to be made aware of the prevailing situation and encouraged to actively report any suspicious instances or cases of illegal entry of individuals or groups into the district.
