District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC), Peren conducted the 2nd quarterly enforcement drive on the sale of prohibited tobacco products in areas within a radius of 100 meters of educational institutions under COTPA Act Sec. 6(a) & (b) and sale of tobacco to minors at Jalukie Town on 20th September 2022.

The drive was conducted under the acknowledgment of EAC Jalukie, Imtinungla Longkumer, and the police personnel from Jalukie police station. The enforcement squad seized tobacco products from five shops which were then disposed of at the police station.

Some schools have kept the warnings seriously and thus discontinued the sale of tobacco within the given distance.
