Incessant and heavy rains caused flash floods and landslides in many areas in and around Mangkolemba, Mokokchung and has left the town completely cut off on 10th August 2022.

At Hokiyong ward, 12 houses were damaged by landslide. It is also been reported that road between Khar village and Mangkolemba has been blocked due to debris and rocks  and  road blockages at many locations connecting Mangkolemba town and Japu village. Incessant flood is also reported at Japu village which has caused severe damaging paddy fields.
