In connection with the forthcoming General Election to Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023, a meeting with enforcement departments/agencies for assessment of election preparedness and the ground situation was held on 25th November 202 in the office chamber of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland.
The meeting was chaired by V. Shashank Shekhar, IAS Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland. It was discussed that for conducting the Legislative Assembly Election, 2023 freely and fairly, there is a need to thoroughly check unfair, unhealthy, and illegal means like the inflow of liquor, use of money power, etc by all the concerned departments.
Representatives from the following undermentioned departments/ agencies attended the meeting:
- Police.
- State Excise Department.
- State Taxes Department.
- CISF (Dimapur Airport).
- Airport Authority, Dimapur Airport.
- IGAR (Assam Rifles).
- State Level Bankers Committee.
- Officers from the office of CEO.
The Election Commission of India will also be reviewing election preparedness very soon with various departments/agencies.
