Department of Social Welfare Mon organized the celebration of International Older Person's Day with the theme, "The Resilience and Contributions of Older Women" on 1st October 2022 at DRDA Conference Hall, Mon.

DC Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS graced the occasion as the special guest. Verma in his speech spoke on the role played by the older citizens in molding and shaping society.

He urged them to take care of their health and wellbeing and make full use of the government schemes available to them.

District Welfare Officer, Y. Tauhong Ngonyen thanked all the older persons for their presence in making the celebration a success.

Sunday School Secretary, KBBB, Among Konyak delivered the keynote address.

The programme was chaired by Welfare Inspector, Golang Kheman, and the invocation was pronounced by CDPO, Laitak.

Two older persons, S. Nyakba of Monyakshu Village and Yingnyu Konyak of gan Village were felicitated for their contribution to society.
