The following awardees of President's Police Medal and Police Medal were announced on the occasion of Independence Day 2023.

1. Tsenpemo  Kikon, Asst. Commandant, Chumukedima, Nagaland (President's Police Medal)

Chozuba, under the leadership of Imkongmar, Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Advisor of Minority Affairs and Sericulture, celebrated the 77th Independence Day at the local ground. Imkongmar delivered an inspiring Independence Day speech and hoisted the national flag. Parade contingents were inspected, and the Rashtriya salute was taken.

On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, Peren District acknowledged the efforts of the women welfare organizations in Tening Town and the Peren Town Women Organization. These organizations have been actively promoting the welfare of women and the girl child, providing financial assistance to destitute women, and setting up initiatives like piggeries to enhance women's livelihoods. The celebration of the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign, commemorating 75 years of India's Independence, was held at Pfutseromi village under R.D. Block Pfutsero. 

The Longleng District Administration has notified that in view of continuous rock fall, mudflow & landslides occurring at several stretches along Chantongya-Longleng National Highway-702, movement of all kinds of vehicles including Light Motor Vehicles (LMVS), along the aforementioned route has been restricted from 6:00 P.M.
