“A total of 50 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected today and the total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 3,168. The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
The state level function of the 74th Independence Day celebration on 15th August 2020 at the Secretariat Plaza, Kohima will be streamed live at MyGovNagaland Facebook and YouTube channel from 9:00 AM onwards.

Leader of the house and Chief Minister Nagaland Neiphiu Rio put forth a statement on COVID -19 Pandemic at the sixth session of the thirteenth assembly session on 13th August 2020.
A case was registered on 06/10/2018 against the then Secretary, Horticulture Department & Managing Director Small famer's Agri- Business Consortium (SFAC) Nagaland who had issued the work order for the Project "Post Harvest Management of Horticulture crops in Dimapur. Peren, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Phek and Wokha" to the contractor without technical approval. The total amount of the Project is Rs. 717.90 lakhs and an amount of Rs. 24130 lakhs was released as 1st installment.
Considering the welfare of the public as well as the traders, Dimapur District Task Force approved the report of the sub committee headed by Administrator DMC, Albert Ezung, for gradual reopening of shops under Dimapur district.
Addl. Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, has notified that in view of the detection of a COVID-19 positive person residing at the following locations viz. Lower PR Hill, Old Minister’s Hill, Panchayat Sector, New Minister’s Hill, Keziekie Colony, Lower Bayavü Colony, Phezoucha Colony and Upper AG Colony the areas defined below are demarcated as SEALED AREA in order to contain the spread of the disease/infection and for necessary contact tracing.
