The 5th edition of the Nagaland 10K -The Great Hornbill Run was conducted on 5th December, 2025 at RCSE Sovima, Chumoukedima witnessing participation from 126 runners representing diverse states and age groups. The event, organized by the Nagaland Athletics Association and supported by the Department of Tourism, highlighted the growing popularity of distance running and athletics in the region.

In the men’s category, Kamal Kumar from Uttar Pradesh clinched the top spot, followed by Nitish Kumar and Nagaland’s Kengimlunghieng.

In the women’s category, Anamika Devi of Uttar Pradesh secured first place, while Madhya Pradesh’s Anjali Pratidar and Nagaland’s Tsuchoi T finished second and third respectively.

Treasurer, Nagaland Athletics Association, Neingulie Nakhro while speaking at the event, congratulated all the participants for their sportsmanship and thanked all the partners and supporters for helping in organizing the event, and emphasized the Association’s continued efforts to build athletic talent across Nagaland.

The Hornbill Run continues to be a major attraction during the Hornbill Festival season, encouraging fitness, discipline, and community participation.

The Association further announced that the Nagaland Cross Country Championship 2025 will be held on 18th December, 2025, open to bonafide citizens of Nagaland. Registration is available at NagalandAthletics.org and through official social media handles.
