Noklak District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on 17th August 2021 at DC’s Conference Hall, Noklak under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & vice chairman DPDB Noklak, Hiazu Meru.
Being his first meeting with the DPDB members, Hiazu Meru requested all the DPDB members to join hands and work together so that Noklak district can go forward in all developmental fronts. Though it is challenging for the new district, let us give our best for the upliftment of the district, he said. The DC expressed hope that DPDB Noklak will be bring progressive change and benefits to the district.
Meru sought cooperation from all the DPDB members to extend full cooperation from the members and he encouraged all the members to bring suggestions and innovative ideas.
During the meeting, the house adopted Noklak Town. The house agreed to pull in resources available in their respective departments for the upgradation of Noklak Town.
Formation of Officers’ Club at Noklak town was discussed and a committee under the chairmanship of DC was resolved. The house felt necessary the formation of the same so as to enhance coordination among the officers posted at Noklak.
The house formed a committee for preliminary case study on Scrub Thypus, Thyphoid and Peripherial Neuritis which are very common diseases in the region. The committee comprising of EAC Noklak, B. Pukha Lam; Medical Officer, CHC Noklak, Dr. Chongya and SDO PHED Noklak, Er. Khaoshai Lam.
For public utility and facilities, proposal for operating/running a local taxi service in Noklak is deliberated. The house urged that it will served as an opportunity to the unemployed youths for their livelihood and also for easy transportation of the people. The house decided that a Rate Fixation Committee shall fix the rates.
NST bus service from Noklak to Kohima and Dimapur was also discussed during the meeting and the house approved and recommended to the higher authority for consideration.
SDO (Civil) Thonoknyu, Longdiba Sangtam informed the house regarding the road condition of Thonoknyu sub-division where he highlighted that both the roads connecting to Thonoknyu sub-division from Tuensang and Noklak, which is the lifeline of the sub-division is in a deplorable condition due to continuous rain. And to this, the house deliberated and agreed to apprised the concerned department.
