Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), Member Secretary, Victo Sema, NJS launched the NSLSA Helpline number on 17th March 2022 during a short formal program at the state NSLSA office in Kohima in the presence of project officials. The Member Secretary informed that the Helpline number has been initiated to enable common people across the state and interior region covering rural areas to reach out for legal aid and services through the toll-free number. The free legal services entail the provision of free legal aid in civil and criminal matters for those poor and marginalized people who cannot afford the services of a lawyer for the conduct of a case or a legal proceeding in any court, tribunal, or before an authority. Free legal services also include provisions of aid and advice to beneficiaries to access the benefits under the welfare statuses and schemes framed by the central or the state government and to ensure access to justice in any other manner.
The toll-free number is being operated at the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority Office. For toll-free assistance, beneficiaries can dial +91 1800 345 3883.
