The Monthly Peren District Planning and Development Board Meeting for October convened at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in Peren on October 18, 2023.
Under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of Peren DPDB, T R Zeliang, the District Planning Board for Peren delved into various critical agendas. Key points of discussion included:
The board examined the proposal for upgrading the Government High School in Jalukie B to a Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS). The board assessed the need for retaining the Examination Centre (10) at Tening. The proposal to establish a sub-station for Fire and Emergency Services in Tening was reviewed and discussed.
The board conducted a comprehensive discussion on these matters and arrived at resolutions to recommend them to the appropriate higher authorities for further consideration.
Additionally, the meeting welcomed and introduced the new members of the DPDB for Peren. The board also took the time to review the minutes of the previous DPDB meeting.
The Education Department delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation, providing an overview of the activities in School Education within the district. They also conveyed their concerns and grievances to the board.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner and Vice-Chairman of the District Planning & Development Board, Vineet Kumar IAS, updated the attendees on the allocation of plots to individuals at the New District Headquarters. This was done to expedite development and prevent any potential cancellation of licenses.
Furthermore, Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland and Chairman of DPDB Peren, T.R. Zeliang, conveyed the unfortunate news of the passing of I. Daniel Zeliang, President of the Zeliangrong People Organization. As a mark of respect, the board observed a minute of silence in his memory.
