Advisor School Education, K.T. Sukhalu inaugurated the newly upgraded Government Higher Secondary School at Ahthibung, Peren on 26th February 2022.

Advisor, K.T. Sukhalu in his inaugural address said there are 2,140 Hindi Teachers (1,308 under CSS and 832 under State programme) and a total of 830 untrained teachers (223 State and 607 CSS), and necessary instructions have been given to the untrained teachers to immediately undergo the required training. He stated under the NCTE rules, all the teachers should have the requisite qualifications for the teaching profession. However, there are many teachers who, despite time given by the government, have not obtained the B. Ed & DLED qualifications and therefore the department is working on the VRS for untrained teachers.

Sukhalu also mentioned that because of the ban in appointments due to COVID-19 and disruption in recruitment activities for the past two years, the Government has decided to give one-time relaxation for two years w.e.f 22nd April 2021 for entry into government service. He also added the department will also shortly be advertising for the recruitment of graduate teachers for science, math, and hindi.

Changes can be brought about in the education system. Educating the child is a collective responsibility of the department and the community and the government is providing the facilities which are yours to look after as your own, he added. He also requested the village authorities, GBs, Council Members, and the SMC & VEC of the schools to check the attendance of the teachers and their services in the schools.

K.T. Sukhalu also asserted that poor enrollment in government schools is a serious concern that needs to be addressed by the local village authorities and due to this very poor enrollment, the government is compelled to downgrade Schools from GHS to GMS to GPS. Further, he encouraged the parents to invest in their child education as they are their future.
