AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON ORAL & HARMFUL EFFECTS OF TOBACCO HELD AT PHEK

An awareness program on oral health and harmful effects of tobacco was organised by NOHP and DTCC Phek was held at DEF Hq/SP Office Phek on 30th April 2024. Altogether, sixty police personnel, including police officers of the unit took part in the awareness program which was followed by free medical examination. 

Delivering her exhortation speech at the programme, Superintendent of Police Phek,Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra, IPS, who is also a dentist, briefed on the causes of oral cancer and its impacts and advised police personnel to give up consumption of tobacco. She also requested the police personnel present to advice friends, family members to avert consumption of tobacco.

Dentist Surgeon, District Hospital, Phek, Dr. Kihito also briefed on non-consumption of tobacco and reminded those addicted to stop consuming. Neiweii Losu, Psychologist, DTCC, Phek, highlighted on harmful effects of tobacco. Nesulu Tetseo, Social Worker, DTCC, Phek, delivered the introductory speech. 

The participants took free medical checked up conducted by medical team at the program.
