Deputy commissioner, Mon Thavaseelan K, IAS in an order issued on 27th March 2020 stated that, in continuation of directive issued by his office vide order No.GA/DEV/COVID-19/2020/90 Dated 7th March 2020 and in pursuance of Order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, all social/political/sports/entertainment/academic/cultural/ religious functions/gatherings are barred in Mon District for a period of 21 days w.e.f 25/03/2020.
DAILY BAZAAR AND GROCERY SHOPS OPENED FOR 2 (TWO) HOURS AT KIPHIRE
As per the order given by the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, SaritaYadav IAS daily bazaar and grocery shops will be open only on every alternate days i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am to 11 A.m.
The shops were opened for two hours this morning (27th March 2020) to the public to purchase their daily essential commodities. They were also allowed to purchase only 10 kg of foodgrains per family.
CHIEF MINISTER WRITES TO ALL CHIEF MINISTERS OF INDIA IN THE WAKE OF COVID-19 OUTBREAK
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in a letter addressed to his counter parts in other States made an appeal for the safety and protection of people from Nagaland stranded in other States. Rio stated that the 21 days lockdown of the country was drastic but a welcome step in the direction of fighting the COVID-19 together as a nation.
GREEN TEAM KOHIMA PERMITTED TO IDENTIFY DAILY WAGE WORKERS
Permit is issued to The Green Team Kohima, to identify daily wage workers and provide rations to such identified daily wage earners during the 21 Days Nation-wide COVID-19 Lockdown period in Kohima

Kohima COVID-19 District Task Force Visits COVID-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centers
The Kohima Covid 19 District Task Force led by DC Kohima Gregory Thejawelie NCS, visited and took stock of the preparations underway at the quarantine center being set up at Meriema, Kohima which can house upto 432 persons who are under quarantine. The team also visited the Covid 19 treatment center at Chedema where all positive cases of Covid 19 in Kohima District will undergo treatment.
