Statement on the constitution of Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA)
On 5th February 2026, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between the Government of India, Government of Nagaland and Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization for constitution of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA).
K. Tokugha Sukhalu, Advisor and the Chairperson of the Committee on Urban Local Bodies & Nagaland Village Councils (Vis-a-vis The Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023 and The Nagaland Village and Tribal Council Act of 1978, as amended up to 2022), has convened its meeting on 10th July, 2026 at 11:30 A.M in the C. Chongshen Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat, Kohima.
All the Committee Members have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Tizit, C. Phuniang, has issued an order prohibiting the movement of heavy vehicles along the ISC Road leading to Zangkham village under Tizit sub-division with effect from July 5, 2026.
The order was issued in view of the rapid deterioration of the road condition which will remain until proper repairing of the damaged portion is undertaken or till the monsoon session is over subject to revision as per the road condition.
The Additional; Deputy Commissioner (ADC) cum Executive Officer, Chozuba Town Council, Zapuno Khatso, NCS has issued an order for total ban on all the following Single Use Plastics (SUP) regulations.
It further informed for strict implementation within Chozuba Town Council jurisdiction and in all the areas under Chozuba Sub- Division with effect from the date of issue of the notification.

In pursuance of the decision taken during the departmental meeting held on 14th May, 2026, the department of Health & Family Welfare issued an ordered stating that all Medical Officers and other medical personnel under Health & Family Welfare Department shall strictly adhere to the prescribed procedure for availing leave. No officer shall leave the station without obtaining prior sanction of leave from the competent authority.
A One-Day Workshop on Solid Waste Management was successfully conducted on 30th June 2026, at the DC’s Conference Room, Chumoukedima.
