POWER DEPARTMENT BIDS FAREWELL TO TWO CHIEF ENGINEERS

A farewell programme in honour of Chief Engineer (Transmission & Generation), Er. Penrithung Yanthan and Chief Engineer (Distribution & Revenue), Er. Tiameren Walling was held at Conference Hall, Directorate of Power, Kohima on 30th April 2024.

During the programme, Minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs, K.G. Kenye shared his experience of being a Power Minister and stated that it was a great experience working with the two outgoing Chief Engineers. He added that their guidance and vast knowledge has been a great assistance to him. He wished them a happy retired life and a prosperous journey ahead of them. 

Speaking on the occasion, outgoing Chief Engineer, (Distribution & Revenue), Tiameren Walling thanked all the officers and staff of Power Department for their tireless effort and making the department proud. He also lauded all the officers of the department for their constant help and added that with their help, he was able to run the office smoothly. 

 

Outgoing Chief Engineer (Transmission & Generation), Er. Penrithung Yanthan highlighted on his 35 years journey in the department and how he came across many obstacles, hardship and dangers. 

He shared his view about how those obstacles were there only to shape him. 

He also called upon the gathering to be cooperative and to look out for one another. 

The programme was chaired by Superintending Engineer (Transmission), Er. Nitovi A. Wotsa while vote of thanks was delivered by Additional Chief Engineer, (Distribution & Revenue) Er. Wabangmeren Jamie,
