CULMINATION PROGRAMME OF DEEPER PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT & CONSULTATION

A culmination programme of Deeper Public Engagement & Consultation (Workshop & Programmes in Colleges) Kohima College, Kohima and Sazolie College, Kohima was held at DC’s Conference hall, Kohima on 25th April 2024.

DC Kohima, Kumar Raminikant, IAS in his speech mentioned that the impact of polluting environment is at large and therefore everyone should take part in taking care of our environment. He also mentioned that global warming impact is seen now even in our own cities, climate change has been recently experienced and therefore he advised everyone to be concerned about the causes of pollution and its impact. He also encouraged the students to achieve their aims as well as incorporate the habits to protect and create a sustainable and clean environment.

EAC, Dr.  Riku Khutso NCS in his address highlighted the scenario of National Clean Air programme and stated that Kohima was in the list of 131 non-attainment cities in India of air pollution. He also highlighted on the activities of the students of Kohima College and Sazolie College. He mentioned that this programme was organised by the District Administration in partnership with the Zub-Zub India to spread awareness of Air pollution and also the causes of pollutions so that people get sensitised about pollution and improve the quality of air. He said that young people can be very influential and therefore encouraged the youths to address the threats and concern posed by pollution to take constructive measures.

The culmination programme also declared and distributed the prizes for reel videos where Riidiionei-ii Kuotsii and team of Kohima College bagged the 1st prize of Rs. 10,000/-, Seyielhounuo Keyi and team from Kohima college, the 2nd of Rs. 7,000/- and the 3rd prize of Rs. 5,000/- by Imtinongtet Lemtor & team of Sazolie College and five other individual consolation prizes to students.  

Later, the District Administration also handed bicycles and waste bins to the colleges.
