As per the guidelines and advisory received from the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, the Election Commission has issued following instructions on setting up of temporary Camping Offices by Political Parties and Candidates:-

The casting of votes through Postal Ballot for polling personnel, police personnel, and others drafted in election duty for the ensuing General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023 begins on 20th February 2023.

At Thonoknyu Headquarters, the political violence between L. Khumo LJP candidate's party, and M. Benei Lamthiu NPP candidate's party occurred on the 19th February 2023 night at Thonoknyu Hq. Both parties pelted stones causing injury to both parties and many vehicles got damaged during the clashes.

In view of the ensuing General Election and as per the Representation of the Peoples Act, 1951 Section 160, ADC & Administrator, Peren Town Council, Vekhoyi Chakhesang has notified that the Peren Town Public Football Ground has been requisitioned for the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election 2023 and will remain closed from all sports activities other than election-related matters with immediate effect till the 4th March 2023.
