Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Zunheboto Rahul Bhanudas Mali IAS, in an order, notified for the general information of all concerned that as per Section 126 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the campaigning period for General Election to the 14 Nagaland Legislative Assembly shall come to an end w.e.f 4:00 PM- 25/02/2023 and that there is the prohibition of public meeting during the period of forty-eight hours fixed for the conclusion of poll.

In accordance with Section 353 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and in view of the forthcoming General Election to the 14 Nagaland Legislative Assembly, the day of polling on 27/2/2023 (Monday) is declared as Paid Holiday for all the employees of Government PSUs/Banks/ Financial Institutions/ Industrial undertakings/Private and all the Business Establishments including shops, in the State of Nagaland to enable them to participate and exercise their franchise.

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland will organize Essay Writing and Video Making competitions as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program in connection with the upcoming 14th General Election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023 on the topic “My Opinion of Elections in Nagaland”. 

A total number of 110 webcasting will be installed in the four Assembly Constituencies under the Wokha district in this regard the second phase of mock drill on webcasting was held on 21st February 2023 at Deputy Commissioner Office, 9 webcasting mock drills under 37th Tyui A/C, 20 under 38th Wokha A/C, 10 under 39th Sanis A/C and 15 under 40 Bhandari A/C was conducted today.

Expenditure Observer Patenesh Kumar Election Commission of India for 21-Tuli A/C and 22-Arkakong A/C visited Tuli on 20th February 2023 to check the expenditures of the candidates in both the assembly constituencies. He thoroughly checked the four candidates' expenditures, two candidates from 21-Tuli A/C and two candidates from 22-Arkakong A/C.
