With a view to mitigate Food Security during the Pandemic period, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services through NEC project has initiate promotion of Backyard Poultry Farming in the State.

In view of the unusual mortality of pigs due to suspected African Swine Fever being reported in Kiphire, Mon and Phek districts and in the interest of the public health and safety, DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier has informed that importing of pigs for meat and piglets for breeding purposes from outside Peren District has been banned until further notice.
