District Task force for Covid-19 Longleng held a meeting on 29th May 2020 at DC conference hall Longleng. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Longleng & Chairmen Covid-19 (DTF) M. Shayung Phom.

The full text is as follows:

“Today, 7 more people who have returned to Nagaland have been tested positive for COVID-19. The total active cases in the state now stands at 25.  All the positive persons are being kept under medical observation at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. Further, active surveillance is going on to prevent further spreading of the infection.

As on 29th May 2020, no violation of the lockdown was reported in the State. While issuing the report on Law & Order and facilitation of essential Goods & Services, the Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha informed that 150(One Hundred and Fifty) vehicles were challaned under various sections of the MV Act and an amount of Rs. 30,050/- was collected as fine.

Dimapur, being the entry point for all stranded people of Nagaland who were stuck in different parts of the country due to COVID-19 lockdowns, the everyday challenges faced by officials assigned to take care of the homecoming citizens cannot be ignored.

With reports that heads of many district offices are yet to report for duties in the respective District Headquarters, Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy has stated that this is unacceptable amounting to wilful disobedience of Govt, orders and disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against them.

Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant IAS has issued a press release on 29th May 2020, at 6:AM, that the State Nodal Officer, IDSP, Kohima reported that 1(one) person of Sao Chang College Quarantine Centre has tested positive for COVID-19, Consequently the person has been admitted to District COVID Hospital Tuensang and contact tracing has been initiated.
