Consequent upon the tenure of the Village Councils coming to an end, the Deputy Commissioner Tseminyu, Japheth Woch (NCS) in exercise of the power under Rule 3 of "the Nagaland Village Council and Area Council Rule,1979", has notified to all the recognised Villages under Tseminyu District for selection of new Village Council Members for the tenure 2026--2031 in accordance with the prevailing customary practices and usages.

Deputy Commissioner, Noklak, P Mono Khiamniungan has issued a notification referring to “The Nagaland Village and Area Council Rules 1979”, directing all the recognized villages under Noklak district for selection of new village council members for the next tenure i.e. 2026-2031 in accordance with the prevailing customary practices and usages.

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, has issued a notification directing all recognized villages under the district to initiate the process for the selection of Village Council Members (VCMs) for the next tenure (2026–2031).

K. G. Kenye, Minister, Parliamentary Affairs and the Chairperson of the Committee to Examine the Applicability of Laws Passed by Parliament (CEALPP) has convened its Meeting on the 18th of March, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. Chongshen Committee Room of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
