Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS, has informed the general public of Mon Town, O/O No. DC-MON/Con-21/AR/2022/-23/349, Dated Mon, the 31st August 2026 that the 42 Assam Rifles will be conducting firing and explosive practice at the Unit Firing Range, Tactical Headquarters Mon from 1st September to 30th September 2026 from 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM.

The District Level Youth Festival 2026 for Kohima District is tentatively scheduled to be held on September 11, 2026.

The festival will provide a platform for young people to showcase their talents and creativity, while promoting youth participation and self-reliance. The events will include Declamation as a solo event on the theme “Youth, Skills and a Self-Reliant Nagaland”, along with group events in Folk Song and Folk Dance.

The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, has invited applications from artistes, performers and cultural groups from the eight member States of NEZCC for fresh empanelment and renewal of empanelment.

The empanelment and renewal process will be completed by September 2026. The age of performing artists should generally be between 18 and 35 years, while musicians and accompanists may be considered up to 55 years, depending on the nature of the art form.
