In pursuance to notification received from the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Government of Nagaland and in view of the reported outbreak of "African Swine Fever" and high mortality of pigs in the neighbouring States, in this regard, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant IAS has informed to all concerned that the import of pigs from outside the state is banned under Tuensang district jurisdiction with immediate effect.

In compliance with the order of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Peren the ADC Peren, Moa Sangtam in a circular has informed to all concerned that import and sale of pig & pork is totally banned in Peren Town and Peren Sadar with immediate effect till further order.

“As on today, a total of 664samples have been sent for testing from the State. The results of 650samples have been received and all are negative. Results for 14samples are awaited. Today, a total of 1776 persons have been screened and a total of 29 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.
